Exempt School (Home School) Program
Families can register as Exempt Schools which comply with the Nebraska attendance laws but are not required to meet state approval or accreditation rules, due to Rule 13 in the state’s legislature that states accreditation laws interfere with a parent or guardian’s sincerely held religious beliefs. They must report a notice of intent to the Commissioner of Education.
