Form of consent

Parents or guardians must submit a form to the school district that consents to the requirements surrounding homeschooling in Maryland. The parent is responsible for making sure the required subjects are taught and for annually renewing with the school board.

Umbrella Schools

There are different types of Umbrella schools, which offer support and oversight to homeschooling families. The church umbrella school which is subject to following state requirements, church-exempt umbrella schools which are not obligated to follow state requirements, or a non-public school.
